To create these exceptional instruments, we use only the hand-picked most excellent rosewood. This ensures that each marimba of the Artist series gives a rich sound and is tuned to a perfection that has become synonymous with Adams ’marimba. Adams is the only manufacturer to produce tiles with computer-controlled precision. This exclusive tuning process gives Adams ’Robert Van Sice and Artist Classic models the most stable possible tuning and uniformity of sound and gives Adams complete control over all components of the marimba sound. Marimbe Adams Artist are made of the best materials and are the first choice for every marimba player. After many years of research, Adams is proud to present new tiles. Although seemingly nothing has changed, Adams has drastically improved the sound and ease of playing on them. Eight years ago, Adams began buying rosewood of the highest quality that had not previously been available. Mr. André Adams and Mr. Frans Swinkels visited the Honduran forests several times to select the best possible wood for the production of tiles for the Adams marimba. Adams ’strategy is to systematically and carefully age the wood in special rooms with climate control for 8 years. The result is downright phenomenal! Much faster and cleaner sound and tone - exactly what a marimbist wants and needs. All marimb Artist tiles are coated with a specially developed varnish that ensures optimal sound. Resonant tubes are carefully designed to amplify the main note of each tile and to produce maximum sustain, strength and clarity. The patented Voyager system Adams Artist marimb allows easy adjustment through a wide range of playing heights.
